Ashlesha is a gypsy at heart, who has learned over the years to honour the calling of her heart. It has been a journey in which she has danced and sung her way through self doubt, inauthenticity and judgement to oases of trust, friendship and sincere honesty.
She is a trained classical Dhrupad vocalist and an IAYT certified yoga therapist in the Krishnamacharya tradition.
Through some great fortune, she has had the privilege of learning from masters in various traditions and from different walks of life, who have held space for her with love and generosity.
Yoga has been defined by Sri T Krishnamacharya as a practice that takes the individual from paratantram (dependence on external entities) to svatantram (freedom within the self). Art of any kind, when practiced with introspection, purifies individual expression until it truly mirrors the unique nature of the artist, allowing them to see themselves. The alchemy of both these traditions and forms of self inquiry can be experienced every single time they are practiced from a curious and watchful space. In her own work, she strives to be a non judgemental mirror to her students, sharing what she has learned and adapting it to their individual needs.
